Learn about Aurora, the new mage champion in League of Legends. We break down each of her spirit realm abilities, including her ultimate.
Aurora, the newest champion in League of Legends, joins the Summoner’s Rift as a midlane mage. This Vastayan champion brings a unique kit based on her ability to see and interact with the spirit realm. Let’s take a closer look at Aurora’s abilities in League of Legends.
Passive – Spirit Abjuration
Aurora’s passive allows her to deal bonus magic damage and enter Spirit Mode when she damages an enemy three times with her spells and attacks. In Spirit Mode, Aurora gains increased movement speed and healing. The bonuses increase for each additional spirit Aurora has gathered.
Q – Twofold Hex
Twofold Hex is a two-part ability. First, Aurora fires a blast of cursed energy in a straight line, damaging and marking enemies hit with spirit energy. She can then recast the ability to draw the energy back to herself, damaging enemies it passes through again. The recast damage is increased based on the enemy’s missing health.
W – Across the Veil
With Across the Veil, Aurora hops in a direction and enters the spirit realm upon landing, turning invisible and entering Spirit Mode. This allows her to reposition or make a quick escape. Takedowns on enemy champions reset the cooldown of Across the Veil.
E – The Weirding
The Weirding sends out a blast of spirit magic in an area, damaging and slowing enemies caught in it. Aurora hops backwards slightly when casting this ability, giving it some extra utility for positioning.
R – Between Worlds
Aurora’s ultimate, Between Worlds, creates a large circular zone that merges with the spirit realm. Enemies inside take magic damage and are slowed. Aurora gains an empowered Spirit Mode while in this zone and can travel from one end to the other. Enemies who try to leave the zone take additional damage, are slowed again, and get pushed back to the center.
