The Summertide Scales and Tales event is in full swing in Genshin Impact’s 4.8 update. Players who have completed the event quests can now find and interact with various characters across different regions. This guide will help you locate these characters and learn what to expect from each encounter.
Genshin Impact Summertide Scales and Tales Character Locations
To unlock all character meeting locations, make sure to complete two important quests:
- Summertide Scales and Tales: Appendix
- An Odd Textual Mystery
Only after finishing these quests will all character locations become available.
Sumeru Characters
Nahida and Wanderer
Head to The Akademiya in Sumeru City. Use the waypoint near the Reputation NPC and go west to enter the building. Here you’ll find the Dendro Archon Nahida chatting with Wanderer.
While you can’t directly interact with them, you can listen to their conversation.
Nilou
Find Nilou in Sumeru City’s Grand Bazaar. Teleport to the Adventurer’s Guild waypoint and take the first or second left on Treasures Street. Enter the bazaar and take another left.
You’ll spot Nilou on a stage interacting with some adorable creatures from Simulanka.
Inazuma Characters
Kirara
In Inazuma City, teleport to the Adventurer’s Guild waypoint. Go straight then right after the crafting table. Follow the path to find Kirara at an umbrella stall.
She’s the only character you can directly converse with during this event.
Fontaine Characters
Chiori, Clorinde, and Navia
Visit the Chioriya Boutique in Fontaine to find these three characters. Use the southern waypoint in the Court of Fontaine and turn right. You’ll see them enjoying tea near the clothing store.

Simulanka Character
Fischl and Oz
The only characters found in Simulanka itself are Fischl and her companion Oz. Teleport to the southern waypoint in the Broken Sea area and head north to locate them.
