Ivy is a DPS/Support hybrid in Deadlock, Valve’s new MOBA game. Despite his complex mechanics, Ivy shines when fully equipped with the right items. This guide covers the best build for Ivy in Deadlock to help you maximize his potential.

Ivy Skill Progression

Deadlock Ivy Ability Order
As a DPS/Support hybrid, your team needs your versatile skills.

All heroes in Deadlock have four abilities, including an ultimate. Here is the complete list of Ivy’s skills:

  • Kudzu Bomb: Summon a patch of choking vines that damages and slows enemies in its radius.
  • Watcher’s Covenant: Gain bonuses and automatically connect with a nearby ally to share them. Healing is replicated among all those connected.
  • Stone Form: Turn yourself into impervious stone and smash into the ground, stunning and damaging enemies nearby.
  • Air Drop: Take flight with an ally or a bomb. Drop your ally or bomb to cause a large explosion that causes movement slow.

Ivy is a versatile hero with decent damage, supportive skills, and survival abilities. Stone Form should be the first skill you max out, as it heals you while stunning enemies simultaneously.

For the next skill upgrades, balance between Watcher’s Covenant and Air Drop. These abilities are what make Ivy a valuable asset to any team.

Early Game

In the early game, Ivy’s role is to support your ally in the same lane. Start by getting Basic Magazine, Close Quarters, and quickly save up to buy Health Nova.

Next, acquire Extra Health, Sprint Boots, Ammo Scavenger, and Active Reload. Once you have these items, you can begin harassing enemy heroes using your Stone Form.

  • Basic Magazine – 500
  • Close Quarters – 500
  • Health Nova – 1250
  • Extra Health – 500
  • Sprint Boots – 500
  • Ammo Scavenger – 500

Mid-Game

As you enter the mid-game, your priority should be increasing your defenses since you’ll be engaging in more fights. Start by purchasing Enduring Speed, Healing Booster, Bullet Armor, and Spirit Armor to boost your survivability.

Next, acquire Intensifying Magazine and Slowing Bullets. These items will enhance your damage output and apply a slow debuff, allowing you and your duo to finish off enemies more easily.

Finally, upgrade to Improved Bullet Armor and Improved Spirit Armor to further bolster your defenses. At this point, you’ll be incredibly difficult to kill.

  • Enduring Speed – 1750
  • Healing Booster – 1250
  • Bullet Armor – 1250
  • Spirit Armor – 1250
  • Intensifying Magazine – 3000
  • Slowing Bullets – 1250

Late-Game

In the late game, your DPS hybrid role becomes more impactful. Start by acquiring Titanic Magazine, Vampiric Burst, and Unstoppable—these active items are crucial for late-game team fights.

Next, get Lucky Shot and Soul Rebirth. While Lucky Shot increases your damage output, Soul Rebirth makes you even harder to kill.

If the game continues, finish with Curse and Crippling Headshot.

  • Titanic Magazine – 3500
  • Vampiric Burst – 6300
  • Unstoppable – 6300
  • Lucky Shot – 6300
