Deadlock, Valve’s latest MOBA, continues to evolve with new updates and features. Despite being in early access, the game allows players to create custom lobbies, a feature that isn’t widely advertised. This option is useful for those looking to explore maps, test heroes, or host private matches with friends. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to set up your own custom lobbies in Deadlock.
Creating a custom lobby in Deadlock may seem complex, but it only takes a few simple steps. To start, open the command console by pressing F7 or the key you’ve bound for this action.
Once the console is open, type "private_lobby_create"
and hit enter. This will bring up the custom lobby screen where you can organize players and match settings.
In the custom lobby menu, you will see two teams: The Amber Hand and The Sapphire Flame. The lobby allows up to 12 players to join. To assign players to teams, click on the available slots.
Match settings appear on the right side of the screen. You can select:
Players can join via a direct invite from your friends list or through an invite code found in the match settings.
If you’re running proper matches, you may want observers. There are two spectator slots available. Additionally, unassigned slots are reserved for those not playing or spectating.
Once all players have joined, each participant, including spectators, needs to press the ready button. After picking heroes, simply click the start match button to begin.
Setting up a custom lobby in Deadlock offers a great way to personalize your gaming experience. Whether you’re exploring the map or organizing private matches, following these simple steps will allow you to create and manage lobbies with ease.
